Job Details
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 16, 2026 – June 15, 2026)
- Location: Frankfort, KY 40601 — Kentucky respiratory therapist jobs / travel RT in Frankfort
- Setting: 174-bed acute care hospital (ED, ICU, NICU, and inpatient beds)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); travel night shift; every other weekend required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,120 – $1,200
- Scheduling: Staff self-schedules in a 4-week system; working every other weekend is required
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Active Kentucky State Respiratory Therapist License (RRT) — required for hospital respiratory therapist roles
- Minimum 1 year of hospital Respiratory Therapist experience (ED/ICU experience preferred)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NRP certification preferred (can be obtained onsite if not already held)
- Comfortable learning and providing care in the NICU (NICU experience a plus)
- Proficiency with arterial blood gases (ABGs) and clinical respiratory assessments
- Ability to wear any color scrubs except royal blue
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care for patients across ED, ICU, NICU, and inpatient units as a hospital Respiratory Therapist
- Operate and manage advanced respiratory equipment including Hamilton C-1, BiPAP, Airvo, and Avea ventilators
- Perform and interpret ABGs, airway management, and ventilator adjustments per protocol
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditec system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, and specialists) to deliver high-quality patient care
- Participate in self-scheduling and work every other weekend as part of the travel RT team
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and respiratory care best practices
