- Lung Transplant Surgical Director

Baylor Scott & White – Dallas:
Is seeking an accomplished and visionary Surgical Director of Lung Transplantation to lead and expand our lung transplant service with the goal of increasing surgical volume and maintaining exceptional quality. This role blends clinical excellence, surgical leadership, medical innovation, and strategic program development to drive world-class patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide surgical leadership for the lung transplant program
- Perform lung transplant surgeries and related general thoracic surgery procedures
- Develop and implement program strategies to enhance quality, outcomes, and volume
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. UNOS, CMS)
- Mentor and supervise surgical staff, fellows, and residents
- Participate in research initiatives, clinical trials, and academic publications
- Collaborate with hospital leadership on strategic planning and program growth
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in medicine with fellowship training in cardiothoracic surgery
- Board certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
- Significant experience in lung transplantation with a strong surgical track record
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a transplant program or surgical department
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Texas
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a complex clinical environment
