Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with PICU or NICU experience for a night shift pediatric critical care position at a children's hospital in Oregon.

Details

• Work in a pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) at a children's hospital
• Patient population spans NICU, PICU, emergency department, and pediatric and adult acute/intermediate care wards
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• No on-call requirements
• May float to an affiliate hospital nearby; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Current RRT credential required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1.5 years of PICU or NICU experience required
• Active Oregon (OR) RT license required if applicable
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required for consideration; charge nurse references are not acceptable
• COVID vaccination proof required; no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are eligible to apply for this position
• Candidates who are former employees or previous travelers at this facility must provide a reference from the manager who supervised them there
• Provides therapeutic interventions including airway management, therapeutic gas administration, ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and CPR
• Performs diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood sampling, bedside spirometry, spontaneous ventilatory parameter assessment, and point-of-care testing
• Assists and trains fellow Respiratory Therapists, students, and other healthcare team members
• Responsible for maintaining competency in all equipment and care modalities within the RCP scope of practice
• Charts and charges for all services rendered per facility policy
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restriction applies
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application and may not exceed 2 weeks
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler
