The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac Surgery at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine is recruiting an exceptional individual for a 1-year fellowship in heart & lung transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. The individual must have completed an ACGME Thoracic Fellowship and be board certified or board eligible in Thoracic Surgery. The selected individual will participate in an active and dynamic heart & lung transplant program. The individual will be eligible for UNOS certification in both areas at the completion of the fellowship year. Job responsibilities will include participation in heart and lung implant procedures, organ procurement, involvement in ex-vivo organ perfusion, pre and post-operative care, attendance in selection meetings, collaboration with the Heart Failure and Advanced Lung Diseases teams and scholarly activities.
Our dynamic Division of Cardiac Surgery is interested in individuals who can meet the rigorous quality and demands of a very busy and world-renown cardiothoracic transplantation program. The position is 100% on site and at various hospitals that we are contracted with including procurement training which requires quite a bit of travel.
